SUBSCRIBER

DigiWallet is the most complete mobile wallet solution in Belize.  It allows users to send & receive DigiCash. Also, users will be able to pay merchants for goods and services, plus buy their favorite Digi Products all from the convenience of their mobile device.  

The DigiWallet solution is very secure, providing enhanced security as opposed to traditional cash transactions. To perform transactions using DigiWallet requires the input of a 6-digit PIN; this PIN is unique to each subscriber. 

A subscriber can at any point request the suspension of their DigiWallet account if they suspect their PIN may have been compromised or they can change their PIN within the Mobile Application at any time.

After 3 failed login attempts the account is barred and can only be activated by the DigiWallet account subscriber using the Customer Support Channels.

One key difference is that in addition to our easy-to-use mobile app, users can access DigiWallet via USSD by dialing *2274# (*CASH#) – this means that you can access the app without a mobile data or internet connection; applicable for Digi subscribers only.

DigiWallet also offers unique features not available on other local wallets such as the ability to purchase and send Digi TopUp, and Products.

Anyone over the age of 14 with a valid identification card (Social Security or Passport) and an active DigiCell or Smart mobile number can register for DigiWallet.  

You can self-register by downloading the “DigiWallet” Mobile app from your respective App Store. For users who don’t have a data capable smart phone, will need to register at any of our 13 Digi Stores located countrywide.

Note: Be sure to have your mobile device and valid identification document handy to complete the registration process.

No, you are not required to have a bank account to register or use DigiWallet. 

As a subscriber you are only allowed access to one (1) DigiWallet account. Remember your ID number and mobile number are unique identifiers and cannot be used to register a second account.  

No, DigiWallet is only available locally in Belize; thus, subscribers must register with a local Mobile SIM.

For users who don’t have a data capable smart phone, subscribers will need to register via a Digi Store, thereafter they will be able to access DigiWallet via USSD by dialing *2274# (*CASH#).

Subscribers can access the following:

  • Cash In/Out at a Digi Store or Authorized DigiWallet Agent
  • Cash In via online bank transfers
  • Purchase Digi TopUp or Digi Products for yourself or others
  • Pay your Bill (Digi, BWS & BEL) for yourself or others
  • Send & Receive DigiCash
  • Pay Merchants for goods and services

The transaction fees are dependent on the type of transaction. All fees are displayed in the Mobile App/USSD before confirming your transaction.  By confirming your transaction this indicates acceptance of the fees displayed.

Once registered, you automatically have access to the Silver Wallet (lowest level) which allows you to transact up to $1,000 monthly. You can upgrade your wallet via the “upgrade” option in the DigiWallet app or by visiting any Digi Store countrywide.  When requesting an upgrade, you will be required to present a recent job letter or payslip, recent utility bill and a valid Social Security card or passport. If you have these documents handy, you can submit them through the DigiWallet Mobile App and a DWL personnel will contact you to complete the verification process; this takes approximately five (5) business days. 

You can conveniently use DigiWallet anytime, anywhere. 

  • You can send and receive money to and from another registered DigiWallet user. 
  • You can cash-out or cash-in your DigiCash at any authorized Agent countrywide.

No, at this time all transactions are limited to registered Subscribers, Agents and Merchants located within Belize.  

You can add DigiCash to your wallet by visiting any Digi Store or authorized Agent located countrywide. They will process a cash-in transaction to add a specific amount of DigiCash to your DigiWallet account.  You will need to provide the Agent with the same value in cash. You can also cash-in to your DigiWallet remotely by sending an online bank transfer. Please see instructions here

 

You can visit any Digi Store or authorized Agent located countrywide and request a cash out from your DigiWallet.  They will process a cash-out transaction by deducting the specified amount of DigiCash from your DigiWallet account and issuing you the equivalent amount in cash. As an added security measure to safeguard your funds, we require that a valid Identification card be presented for all cash out requests.

No. However, after 3 months of no activity your DigiWallet account will be deemed inactive.  Thereafter, you will need to visit a Digi Store to seek support from a DigiWallet Representative to reactivate your account.  You must present your valid ID (Social Security Card or Passport) and the response to your security question used at initial registration. If you have a medium or high wallet size, you will also need to provide a current utility bill.

If you have access to your DigiWallet account, you can change your PIN at any time by completing the following process via the DigiWallet app: Go to More>Account>Change PIN.

If you have been barred or forgotten your PIN, you can reset your PIN by selecting the “Forgot your PIN?” option on the DigiWallet App. You will be asked to enter your Mobile number, ID number and the response to your security question, this is done in order to keep your account safe and prevent fraud.

MERCHANTS

As a Merchant you offer your customers a new way to pay for goods and services at your business establishment. The transaction cost is lower than the traditional POS payment methods and allows for a secure payment method over traditional cash transactions.

Merchants can register via any of the options below:

(i) Contact our DigiWallet Sales Team at dwlsales@digiwallet.bz or give us a call at 501-223-8111 or 0-800-392-5538 (Toll Free).

(ii) Self Registration – Download the DigiWallet app and register by selecting the “Sign Up” button. Select account type as “Merchant” and proceed to completing the merchant sign up application on the app and upload the required supporting documents when prompted. 

You will have full access to the app for 72 hours during which time your account will be reviewed and verified.  If your documents are not accurately submitted, a DigiWallet Representative will be reaching out to you to complete the process. 

The app is available for download from both the Google Play Store and Apple App store.  If you are already registered, you can access the solution by login into the mobile app or you can also access your DigiWallet via USSD when you by using the short code *CASH# (*2274#).

To login to the DigiWallet App you must first have completed the registration process, once successfully registered you can login to your account by signing in with the mobile number used at registration as well as your 6-Digi PIN.

As a Merchant you can conduct the following transactions:

  • Receive Payments from Customers
  • Merchant to Merchant Transfers (Pay suppliers)
  • Instant Bill payments
  • Access to exclusive Digi Products
  • View transaction history up to 90 days within the app; this includes a view of different shifts where multiple users are under one account

As a Merchant you can only make transfers to another Merchant (Merchant-to-Merchant).  You must register as a Subscriber to make transfers to another Subscriber.

Yes. In instances where a merchant has multiple cashiers or business locations, all these users can be associated under one account.

A mobile number can only be used once to register for DigiWallet account type.  If your mobile number has been registered for a Merchant account, you will need to provide a number to register for a Subscriber account.

Merchants can Cash Out via the DigiWallet app by clicking the “Cash Out Merchant” button and entering 623-8887 as the Agent Mobile Number followed by the Cash Out desired amount. 

AGENTS

A DigiWallet Agent is an authorized and registered business that facilitates cash-in and cash-out transactions for DigiWallet users on behalf of DigiWallet Limited. 

  • Earn commission with every cash-in and cash-out transaction processed  
  • Extend financial access & inclusion to new and existing customers
  • Increase foot traffic to business 
  • Submit agent application form
  • Valid Social Security card or Passport for all business owners or shareholders
  • Trade License, Certificate of Registration or Incorporation
  • Bank statement (Recent 3 Months)
  • Utility Bill to confirm business address

Note: Additional documents may be needed based on business ownership structure and business type.
